What is Southend LSCB?
The Southend-on-Sea Local Safeguarding Children Board's (LSCB) main role is to improve the lives of children and young people in Southend by working with the Local Authority, Health, Police, National Probation Service and local rehabilitation company, the voluntary sector and other partners on safeguarding children. We work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people within the local area.Get in touch with us
The LSCB also develops policies and procedures relating to:
The action to be taken when there is concern for a child's wellbeing Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children who are privately fostered Investigating allegations made against people who work with children Recruitment and supervision of people who work with children Working with neighbouring authorities and their partner agencies
In addition to setting policies, LSCBs also:
Raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding children and the methods used to do so Monitor and evaluate the success of the local authority and its partners in safeguarding Participate in planning and improving services for children in the area Undertaking serious case reviews and identifying lessons to be learnedSpeak to our team
